Competition

What images spring to mind when you hear the word ‘competition’?
When I hear the word competition, I associate it with a match or something which arises between two members or teams and so on. People involved try to beat each other and make up strategies and practice a lot in order to compete with the other one.

Are you a competitive person. Why/why not?
I think that I am a competitive person regarding a certain field. For instance, when it comes to tests in school, I had a rival by whom I didn’t want to be beaten in any subjects. I made utmost efforts and studied hard before all the tests to get better scores than him when we were in a same class. Thankful to the efforts, in most cases, I could be superior to him. He didn’t study at all, though.

Why are some people very competitive?
I guess whether people are competitive or not relies on their characteristics. Therefore, there must be people who are very competitive and some people are not. I have no idea about the reason why people became so competitive but they seem to be because of the environment where they grew up or family who raised them in their houses.
